Report Shows Big Economic Benefit From Crater Lake

More reports on economic benefits to local communities near our national parks.

The latest is about Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. I visited Crater Lake last year during my Great American Eclipse trip.

According to KQEN News Radio:
A new report from the National Park Service shows the region gets a big economic benefit from Crater Lake National Park. 
Marsha McCabe says the report shows that 712,000 visitors to Crater Lake spent $59.9 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 981 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $80.6 million.

It is remarkable that Crater Lake did so well considering that the park was plagued by forest fires during the summer.
